Hello hello! Our long Thanksgiving weekend is coming to an end and we had such a great time. Days were filled with sleep, reading, walks, and eating and it couldn’t have been better. My parents were in town for the holiday and the Mr and I had a great time hanging with them, cooking food, and creating traditions. They also generously watched Sophie many times so he and I could sneak out for dates – score!
The short of how our holiday went like this:
Turkey Day was great. I made the turkey and the mashed potatoes and the rest of the family pitched in on sides. I had a chance to sneak out to visit Winston for a quick minute while the turkey roasted and we had a blast galloping up the empty hills.
Friday we had the day off and took care of vaccinations and feeding for Winston and then did a bit of Black Friday shopping with the family. In the evening, the Mr and I had an impromptu double date with some friends of ours at Sundance, a great steakhouse in the valley.
Saturday, we celebrated my stepdad’s birthday with a lovely breakfast and tasty goodies. Later, we took a nice walk in downtown Los Gatos, stopping in at my brother’s bike shop, Summit Bicycles, to pick up some gifts. I also discovered an amazing home goods store (brand new, still looking for the name!) that I’m devastated I haven’t seen before and also kind of thinking of having a wedding registry there… I solved some serious longing for the home goods store by going for a very much needed run and now I’m more sore than I’ve been in a while!
Today, Winston and I had a lovely workout in the fog and then we headed up to the city to get the house in order and relax with football before the week begins.
I hope you all had a great and happy long weekend, the season is beginning and I’m feeling so so lucky for the people I have around me!
