We’ve just gotten back from a whirlwind trip to the Big Apple, the land of no sleep and good food, excitement and flashing lights. It was a great trip with lots of surprising fun, wind at my back, and exploration.
Friday I was off for the day and we spent the time visiting a friend’s new adorable baby (how are they so incredibly soft and squishy?), laughing over pressed juice, and lunching on fresh lobster from the market. The evening was catching up with a treasured friend and enjoying warm comfort food, and then a night out with colorful lights and great music.
Saturday started out early with a run down the west side of the city, proving that exercise really can make you feel alive after a late night. There was a cozy brunch with new friends and an unplanned trip to a vintage boutique, playing in the rain and taking cover in cafes in between city strolls. In the evening we were lucky enough to see Book of Mormon on Broadway after a quiet, sweet dinner. The show was hilarious and we spent the last of the evening celebrating a birthday in dimly lit corner of a pub.
Sunday has been travel and prep for the week, with a quick run and a visit to snack on sushi while the sun tucked itself into the horizon. I’m happy to be back home, but look forward to getting back to the East Coast again sometime soon.
Hope you all have a lovely, happy, productive week!
