Another weekend has come to a close, and what a lovely weekend it was! Friday started off with Valentines Day, with champage glasses and steaks, candlelight and sweet movies.
Saturday started off quietly with the cloudy sunrise and a walk with Sophie along the water. After the usual drive through the rolling hills, I had a ride on Winston and then a lovely run through downtown Palo Alto. Cooling off from my run, I took Sophie for a walk down University avenue where lots of people roamed, and so we decided to stay a while. We had a perfect lunch full of Spanish tapas: tuna tartare, empanadas, and roasted brussel sprouts with a rose mimosa to top it off.
The afternoon was filled with sweeping and dusting the house, and then a late drive to have dinner with our parents. It was so nice to get out of the city and into the tree filled streets again!
Sunday morning the sun came out and after a walk around the garden, there was a feast of mom’s famous Norwegian waffles and drips of jam and butter all around. After a fantastic ride on Winston, it was back to the city streets for a long hike with a lovely friend. We were lucky with good weather and beautiful sites, and burned some serious Valentines candies throughout.
I’m off to the South for a quick business trip, wish me luck and have a fabulous week!
