if there’s one dog who knows how to rest more than any human, it’s sophie. girlfriend can fall asleep practically anywhere, catching up on zzz’s whenever possible. she sleeps in my arms, on the floor, early in the morning and during meetings. and even though most of us can’t get away with falling asleep in meetings, we can learn a little about getting some R&R from sophie. I don’t know about you, but I could use a lot more rest. here’s how to chill like sophie:
- learn to rest wherever – get comfortable with yourself and be okay with closing your eyes. you might not fall asleep, but just getting comfortable closing your eyes will help you learn to cat nap
- see dull moments as opportunities – when sophie’s bored, she sleeps. on a train somewhere? bored in the evening after work? consider taking a nap and catching up on some serious sleep. you’re not boring, you’re seizing the moment.
- take some deep breathes – believe it or not, most of us aren’t breathing properly. the more deep, slow breaths you take, the more relaxed you become.
