Life is tough. Lately, I’ve come across a lot of good friends who are falling on hard times. The key to dealing with it – keep on going. And by “keep on going”, I do not mean that you need to reject negative feelings or scold yourself for lacking in the optimism department. Quite the opposite actually. If you feel terrible, allow yourself a little bit of time to feel bad. Don’t be mean, don’t take your bad day out on others, but be kind to yourself instead of forcing yourself to smile. But whatever you do, keep going (in work, family, exercise) as much as you can.
Sophie is good at this stuff. If she feels down, she feels down. She’s not rude or mean, but she is down when she wants to feel down. She allows herself rest and is kind to herself, but she also keeps going. She continues to work hard, to be nice to others, and keeps going in every aspect of her life that matters. So if you’re feeling down, do like Sophie and let yourself be bummed out and keep going!!
